Refund & Cancellation Policy

1. What we sell

Expense Keeper is free to download and use. We sell exactly one paid product: Cloud Backup, a one-time in-app purchase that unlocks automatic encrypted backup of your app data to your own Google Drive, one-tap restore on a new device, and priority email support. You only pay if you choose to turn Google Drive backup on.

Expense Keeper — Cloud Backup ₹599 One-time purchase. No subscription, no auto-renewal, no recurring charge.

Price is in Indian Rupees (INR) and includes applicable taxes.

2. How payment works

Cloud Backup is sold as a one-time in-app purchase processed by Google Play. We do not collect, see, or store your card or payment details at any point — payment is handled entirely by Google Play using the payment method on your Google account.

You are charged once, at confirmation of purchase. Nothing renews and you will not be charged again. The purchase is linked to your Google account, so you can restore it on any device signed in to that account.

3. Cancellation

There is no subscription to cancel. Because Cloud Backup is a one-time purchase, no recurring payment is ever set up and nothing needs to be cancelled to stop future charges — there are none.

You can stop using Cloud Backup at any time by turning the toggle off in Settings → Cloud backup. This signs the app out of Google Drive and stops further backups. Your data is not deleted: the app continues to work fully on the free plan, and any existing backup stays in your own Google Drive until you choose to delete it.

If you change your mind, you can turn it back on later at no extra cost — you already own the purchase.

4. Refunds

Google Play's refund window

Because Cloud Backup is purchased through Google Play, refunds are governed by Google Play's refund policy. You can request a refund directly from Google within 48 hours of purchase at play.google.com/store/account, and it is usually processed automatically.

Requesting a refund from us

After Google's 48-hour window, you can still write to us at support@theusecase.in. We will consider refund requests made within 7 days of the purchase, and we will approve a refund where:

Include your Google Play order ID (from your Play purchase receipt email) so we can locate the transaction.

When we may decline

We may decline a refund where Cloud Backup worked as described and was used, and the request is simply a change of mind made more than 7 days after purchase. Because this is a one-time purchase, no further charge will be made in any case.

5. How refunds are paid

Approved refunds are issued through Google Play back to the original payment method used for the purchase. We do not issue cash, cheque, or bank-transfer refunds, because we never hold your payment details. Once approved, refunds are typically initiated within 3 business days and appear on your original payment method within 5–10 business days, depending on your bank or card issuer.

6. Failed or disputed charges

If you were charged but Cloud Backup did not activate, contact us with your order ID and we will restore access or refund the charge.
